#ThisIsFortDodge: Dr. Clay & Associates DDS, PLC
Since opening the doors to its brand new, state of the art dental facility in 2016, Clay & Associates has seen its patient count surge by more than 50 percent. The office on the north side of Fort Dodge hosts 12 operatories—it’s just the right size for three dentists, six hygienists, and its growing patient numbers—and offers the latest in dental technology and equipment, general, implants and orthodontic (delete pediatric) dental services, plus spa amenities like massaging chairs, wax treatments, and Botox and dermal fillers.
“It’s a privilege for me to work on the people here, build this new practice, bring in more dentists, and give back to the community,” says Dr. John Clay, who started working in Fort Dodge more than 15 years ago. “The people here are just fantastic,” he says.
He’s currently looking for another dental associate to join his team. The new dentist will have a full slate of patients starting from day one, access to a phenomenal staff, and Dr. Clay himself as a mentor to offer guidance on how to build a successful practice. About Us: I am a general dentist office that offers but is not limited to: restorations (both composite or white and amalgam or silver), root canals, all preventative procedures (sealants, cleanings or prophies, digital x-rays, fluoride treatments, periodontal assessments, etc), periodontal scaling and root planing or deep cleanings, complete upper and/or lower dentures (both traditional and implant supported), upper and lower partial dentures, all cosmetic procedures (veneers{both prep and no prep or lumineers}, porcelain crown and bridge, teeth whitening, etc), and implant placement and restoration (both traditional and mini implants).
Digital x-rays are a relatively new technology that few offices in our area have implemented. My decision to go to this was two-fold; First, the patient is exposed to a fraction of the radiation that traditional x-rays produce. Second, the diagnostic capabilities are limitless, thus, allowing me to diagnose various issues that may not be able to be identified by traditional methods.
Implants, both traditional and mini, are a terrific new option for many patients. They offer many benefits for tooth replacement and denture stabilization, and are quickly becoming the standard of care. More and more insurance companies have identified this trend and have included them in their coverage. This is a procedure commonly done in my office and at a very high success rate.
Nitrous oxide is a way of sedating the patient consciously, making any procedure much less stressful for the patient. I use this regularly in my office. This works great for patients who have high anxiety when dental procedures are performed.
