5 Ways LEGO KidsFest will make your childhood dreams come true
LEGO fans of all ages, listen up! May 13-15, Kansas City is hosting LEGO KidsFest, THE event guaranteed to make your childhood dreams come true. Or, you know, make your children’s dreams come true.
LEGO KidsFest is a touring three-day event that brings the world of LEGO alive through interactive, creative, and educational activities for the entire family. Yes, parents, even you. From meet-and-greets, to LEGO construction zones, to master builder workshops, attendees will be treated to an immersive LEGO experience that will let them experience their favorite toys in a larger-than-life way.
Check out the top five ways to treat your inner child – and provide your kids with an experience they’ll never forget – at LEGO KidsFest’s Kansas City stop.
LEGO Models on Display
At the LEGO Model Museum, attendees can check out larger-than-life-sized models built solely from a collection of LEGO bricks, designed and built by LEGO Master Builders who are on site all weekend.
For anyone who’s ever spent an inordinate amount of time building and rebuilding LEGO models, then the creation portions of the event are guaranteed to have you bowled over with excitement. The Big Brick Pile is exactly what it sounds like – a gigantic pile of LEGO bricks – while Monochromatic Builds offer technical creators a chance to build with individual colors. Creation Nation takes this collaborative environment to the next level, giving fans the opportunity to build a custom design and add it to a LEGO map of the U.S.
LEGO Challenges
Earn the title of best LEGO builder in your family with the challenges offered at LEGO KidsFest. For Star Wars fans, LEGO KidsFest will offer Hangar Bay Relay Races, where attendees can take on each other in a Jedi-style challenge. For more traditional vehicle creators, the Race Ramps offer builders a chance to build a custom car and race it against friends and family. At the Challenge Zone, your family can race against each other (and the clock) to build a specific model in record time.
LEGO Master Builder Workshops
It’s not all fun and games at LEGO KidsFest – it’s also a learning experience! LEGO brings two of their master builders (can you say dream job?) to every show, where they’ll offer workshops, live demos, and activities to help amateurs step up their LEGO game.
The opportunity for creativity is limitless with LEGO, as shown through their many themed experiences at LEGO KidsFest. At LEGO Ninjago, attendees can learn what it takes to become a Spinjitzu master, while LEGO Mindstorms offers opportunities to build and program robots and snakes. The LEGO Star Wars, LEGO Super Heroes, and LEGO Disney Princess areas bring your favorite characters together with your favorite toy.
