Orlando’s Newest Outdoor Venue Gives Everyone the Best Seat in the House
The Central Florida Fairgrounds has been an icon in Florida for nearly 90 years, and is perhaps best known as the home of one of the city’s largest family-friendly events, the Central Florida Fair.
However, since opening a beautiful 10,000 capacity, $1.2 million amphitheater less than two years ago, the 87-acre facility is quickly becoming known among music fans and promoters alike as Central Florida’s premiere outdoor venue.
Since opening in the spring of 2016, the Orlando Amphitheater has hosted many major music festivals including RARE Orlando, Earthday Birthday, and Make America Rock Again. It has also been the venue of several high-profile political rallies and solo concert events featuring artists such as Hunter Hayes and Blink-182.
“Our goal was to make the concert and event experience enjoyable, safe, and easy from beginning to end,” said Wil Price, Director of Marketing and Operations for the Central Florida Fairgrounds. “We looked at everything from ticketing, parking, stage visibility, acoustics, safety, and even the location of the restrooms in order to improve our guests’ experience.”
Once inside the open-air venue, there’s a perfect view of the massive 60-foot stage from every angle. Due to the Amp’s layout, many shows provide VIP and premium section options. It is located next to scenic Lake Lawne, allowing for a breezy climate, unobstructed views, and clear acoustics.
The appeal of the Orlando Amphitheater doesn’t stop with concert-goers; promoters are discovering the benefits of bringing big names to the venue. The Amp has partnered with local power companies to provide a dedicated power supply for events, creating a “Plug and Play” experience for production teams. All of these amenities ensure that the production, from sound and mixing to the accompanying lighting, runs flawlessly.
Many concert tours have sponsors, which can create conflict at venues between competing sponsors or third-party vendors that limits their ability to benefit from important revenue streams. At the non-exclusive Orlando Amphitheater, promoters don’t have those limitations, thus increasing their likelihood of a successful, profitable event.
All of these facility assets mean that you can expect many more big names and exciting events to come to the Orlando Amphitheater in the near future.
