The Complete and Only Road Trip Checklist You’ll Ever Need
Are you planning on heading out on the road? Are you looking to make sure you’re prepared? Well, we’re here to help.
There’s a pretty simple way to make sure that you’ve got everything you need for a successful road trip — a trip checklist!
Here’s the definitive road trip checklist to get you started today.
Safety First
First, you’ll need to make sure that your safety is covered for your road trip playlist. You don’t want to have to make a serious decision after an automobile accident. Make sure that your insurance is up to date, and that you have AAA or another emergency service provider. You should also check that your car is stocked with emergency care service tools, like a spare tire.
Additionally, your car isn’t the only thing that can be hurt. Get a well-stocked first aid kit and have it readily available. Make sure you have actual paper maps of the area you’re traveling in, just in case you run out of batteries or you end up in a no-cell service area.
Plus, make sure you have the documents you need. If you plan to pass a border, everyone in your party will need a passport. If you’re staying in the country, but someone in your party is a U.S. visa holder, make sure that that person has all the documents they need just in case you run into trouble along the way.
Be Prepared
Food and water can be a big one when it comes to road trips. Stock up on plenty of healthy snacks, and invest in refillable water bottles so you won’t have to constantly purchasing disposable bottles. And, keeping the power on is of major importance in today’s day and age. Make sure you have the right chargers for all your devices, and ideally you should have fully charged portable batteries on hand as well.
And make sure you check the weather before you hit the road. You don’t want to be stuck in a rainstorm in nothing but flipflops and a bathing suit, right?
Make sure you have plenty of layers and appropriate clothing for whatever the season is outside. If it’s going to be bright and sunny, pack plenty of sunscreen along with your hats and sunglasses.
It may seem silly and obvious, but pack plenty of underwear and socks. More than you think you’ll need. You don’t want to run out, do you? And, if you don’t think you’ll be making it to a shower for a while, stock up on wet wipes and dry shampoo to keep yourself smelling good during long, hot car rides.
You’ll want to be comfortable during your road trip, too. Prepare with plenty of travel pillows and blankets to stay comfy cozy during your travels.
